Final Australian Post
My last night in Brisbane was spent at an art show at that James put on at the Alibi Room. I put up a some photos among the art of 4 other people and we all drank and talked and ate vegan pizza and drank and talked some more. Fun times had by all. Then the next day I went to Kwala skateboads where I traded heidi a photo of Sonic Youth for a skateboard.. Boo Yah!!! Thanks heidi. Flew back to Melbourne for the last couple days walked around a Catholic church and went to the flea market. My last night in Melbourne had Brett taking me to see Regular John from Sydney. Amazing band, check them out for sure. Then the flight home, through New Zealand for about 30 minutes. Thanks to everyone that I met in Awesome-tralia. -------------------Click for more photos---------------------
One of the best days ever. James took me to buy hundreds of dollars of booze for The Alibi (which he owns and runs), then we went to check out the best guitar shop ever, Tym's guitars, where I found out everything i needed to know about japanese copies of guitars. And as the grand finally we headed to the Koala Sancuary to observe and hangout with koalas, bats, parrots, emus, wallabies, snkes, lizards kangaroos and their joeys. Undescribable. Other than James trying to box the main kangaroo, I thought he was done for. -------------------Click for more photos---------------------
The day after the last show in Brisbane, Matt, Brett and I took Staker's van and drove up north to the Sunshine coast spent the night at Matt's uncle's rainforest ranch, rode 4 wheelers, learned about Toad Golfing, went tubing in shark and stringray infested waters, which we found out after we got out of the water, and visited Aussie world. Which was mind blowing. Owls look crazy here. Straker’s Mitsu-beasty Before stickers Stickers After stickers Chicken salad -------------------Click for more photos---------------------
I'm gonna make this one a list. Still in Sydney. Played the next day with Shooting at Unarmed Men, and The Nation Blue at The Spectrum, awesome show. Got into an elevator down the street that openned up to a crazy party, got hammered, watched other people get even more hammered and pass out on the sidewalk. Went home fell asleep listening to the waves hitting the beach. Woke up. Got on a plane with a bunch of hungover dudes on the way to Brisbane. Played our last show in Brizzy at an old movie theatre, where they tried to rip us off, by charging us for beer that they wouldn't even give us, but the lighting was great. Jon Chapple from Shooting at Unarmed Men and McClusky Yes!! Metal for real!! Dude had an Oakland Raiders tattoo "Dear Taxi Driver. Me=wasted. Please drive me too ..." Matt's way of not losing chris Mad passports !! DUUUUUUUUUDES!! Chris getting ready to fly with no sleep. -------------------Click for more photos---------------------
Uhhhhhhhhh yeah, this guy was getting a superhero suit painted on his body at the beach. We played a show with Black Level at a club called Hot Damm and then hit the beach the next day, well we didn't swim, just looked at all the people at the beach, had expensive smoothies, and of course, amazing coffee. Then Dave and Brett walked us down to the Opera House. Where we saw the most amazing donkey ever. I thought maybe he would dance if you put money in his can, but nope, he still just sat there. i guess he was trying to be the most realistic donkey ever. Real donkeys don't dance. chris taking a picture of a very small headed man. Definately a sabertooth tiger fan, no one beats us in merch sales -------------------Click for more photos---------------------
We went over to TNB Tom's place to get ready to go out to the bar.. He has chickens in the backyard, along with an 8' basketball hoop in the grass... Awesome... Then the next day Matt took us to the animal sanctuary, where we heard everyone talk about how awesome the bird of prey exhibit was, until we went and it bored our socks off.. But its all good, cause the Wombat, woke up, waddled over to us plopped down rolled over and passed out.. well worth the $20 admission. That night we played at Old Bar in Melbourne with Black Level and "These hands could seperate the sky" great show.. almost everyone stuck around when we played, theres a first time for everything. The next day we headed off to Sydney and ended up staying with Matt's buddy Adrian at his place at Bronte in his amazing beach view condo.. yeah 4 doors down from Heath Ledger's place.. pretty swanky wanky... Tom nation blue Dave in the back of Tom's red velvet panel van. Ki's amazing trans am.. chris getting environ - MENTAL!! Heath's is the shiny black death looking house
After 3 weeks in Awesome-stralia a week of work and then a week up in old Spokaloo with the family for christmas, I've gone through all the australia photos to start puting them up.. i'll probably do them a couple per day so as I don't burn my retinas up looking at the screen for days on end. So on with it.. Favel and Dave took us to the beach just south of Melbourne and of course, dressed all in black Chris, Dave, and Dave looked like they were there to rob the place.
